Dear Fellow Residents of Etobicoke North:
Hi. My name is Naiima Farah. I have been a resident of Etobicoke North for over 20 years. I am a Community Worker, Youth Counsellor, and a Human Rights Advocate. I have worked as a close advisor in both the non-profit/private sector to address issues such as violence against women, youth-related violence, and poverty reduction strategies.
My vision for Etobicoke North is one where everyone, both young and old, can thrive and reach their full potential. On October 22nd, it is my hope that you will elect me as your new City Councillor.
With 1 in 4 children living in poverty, the City of Toronto currently stands as the child poverty capital of Canada. Therefore, now is the time for change for the better. Now is the time to vote for a courageous leader that will invest in job creation, our schools, in mental health, wellness, and social services, especially in the areas of early identification, prevention, and treatment services for children and youth. According to the Canadian Mental Health Association (2018), the onset of over 70% of mental health problems occurs during childhood and adolescence.
If you believe in investing in a brighter future for the residents of Etobicoke North, vote for me to serve as a strong voice and advocate for our community inside City Hall.
Together, let’s vote for a united and stronger Etobicoke North where no one is left behind. Together, let’s vote for change we can be proud of.
